Job summary

ROKAH LLC is seeking a dedicated DSP to support individuals with disabilities in West Orange, NJ. You will provide direct care, assist with daily living activities, and help implement ISPs while documenting progress.

The role emphasizes compassion, dignity, and community inclusion within a supportive team. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior direct support, caregiving, or human services experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation a plus.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, person-centered approach.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnights as needed.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with IDD.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meals and other ADLs.
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, outings, and recreational activities.
• Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols.
• Foster independence, dignity, and community inclusion for all individuals served.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.
