Job summary

BFAIR is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Adams, MA to provide essential supports in a group home setting. The role involves helping individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, cooking, and community participation, while promoting independence and personal goal achievement.

The DSP will work closely with individuals, maintain accurate records, and ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to policy and training requirements, including CPR/First Aid and MAP.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma/GED or one year in a related field.
• Must possess basic math, reading and writing skills and communicate effectively.
• Valid US driver’s license required; reliable transportation may be needed.
• Ability to pass background checks (CORI, SORI, fingerprints, LEIE, driving record, E-verify) and keep certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports in daily living including personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreation.
• Assist individuals with mobility, bathing, dressing and other personal care tasks; monitor medical needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and encourage community participation.
• Document care plans, progress notes and communications per agency guidelines.
