Job summary

Berkshire Family And Individual Resources in Southampton, MA seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. You will support daily living activities, including personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreation, to promote independence and personal goals.

You will also help individuals engage in community activities and pursue personal interests, with training including CPR/First Aid and completing required background checks.

Qualifications

Job Location: Southampton, MA 01073.

Salary Range: $21.50 - $23.50 hourly.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The ABI Direct Support Professional is primarily responsible for providing various support to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. The DSP assists individuals in all areas of daily living including personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreational activities. The DSP works closely with individuals to help them become as independent as possible and to meet their own personal goals. The DSP also assists individuals to find and participate in community activities they enjoy while encouraging community membership as well as pursuing individual interests.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED, or one year of experience in a related field.
• Basic math (addition/subtraction) skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multi‑task and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E‑verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks (e.g., nursing).
• Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Must maintain all certification needed in the program including CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration (MAP) and BFAIR Human Rights Training. May need to attend workshops, seminars or BFAIR functions as needed for job development.
