Job summary

3M’s Services LLC in North Carolina is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide personalized, compassionate care to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. You will assist with daily living activities, support community participation, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with daily living activities including meal prep, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• Implement de-escalation strategies to foster positive behaviors and a safe environment.
• Empower participation in social and recreational activities to enhance quality of life.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals.
