Job summary

Whole Life seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities in Preston, CT. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and help clients participate in community and recreational activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, administering medications as needed, documenting care, and ensuring a safe living environment while maintaining confidentiality and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Proof of valid driver's license and acceptable ID.
• Ability to pass background and health checks.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks including lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Proficient in documenting care in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence
• Use mobility equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts) with proper techniques
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
