NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Direct Support Assistant to support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, health, and community integration. Under supervision, you will provide care, advocate for personal choice, assist with daily activities, and participate in creating and recording care plans.

You will administer medications as directed and may drive state vehicles across New York, contributing to a supportive and safe living

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NYS driver's license required.
• Must meet physical and agility standards.

Responsabilidades

• Provide supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Advocate, encourage, guide and teach individuals in expressing personal choice.
• Ensure community integration.
• Assist with personal hygiene, dining, dressing, meal preparation, lifts and transfers.
• Help participate in games and recreational programs.
• Coach and encourage development of daily living skills.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Work with staff to carry out and record care plans.
• Administer medication per instructions.
• Drive NYS-owned vehicles across NYS/NYC.

Formação académica
