Job summary

A.B.I. RESOURCES in Connecticut is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with disabilities in living independently and engaging with their community.

The role focuses on safety, daily routines, rehab homework, medication reminders, social activities, and helping clients pursue meaningful employment. The position emphasizes supporting clients with physical or intellectual disabilities, including brain injury experience, in developing life skills and community

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and Car.
• Pre Employment Background Check and Drug Testing.
• Experience helping people recovering from head injuries, strokes, concussions or brain injury.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of clients at all times.
• Assist with organization and personal daily routines.
• Support medical and therapeutic rehab homework as prescribed.
• Provide medication reminders and monitoring as needed.
• Participate in social and recreational activities with clients.
• Help clients find meaningful employment opportunities.
• Assist with money management and budgeting basics.
• Support development of social skills and community integration.
• Provide additional support as required.
