Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in Woodbury is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The DSP assists with daily activities, meals, recreation and learning activities to help residents live more independently.

Ideal candidates have empathy, excellent communication, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm, and a passion for helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily activities, including household chores, meal preparation, recreation, learning activities and fitness.
• Represent the needs and interests of individuals served and input on program planning.
