Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities in Woodbury, CT. Duties include daily activities, household chores, meals, recreation, learning, and fitness, with input on program planning.

The ideal candidate has experience with disabilities, basic computer skills (Therap a plus), excellent communication, empathy, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm, and a passion and dedication for helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily activities in a residential setting.
• Assist with household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness activities.
• Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served and provide input on program planning and implementation.
• Support a collaborative, person-centered approach to empower individuals to live more independently.

Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The DSP will provide support with daily activities, including household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness activities. The DSP will represent the needs, wants, and interest of individuals served or supported by the program, and provide input on program planning and implementation for individuals.

Location: Woodbury

Schedule:Wed: 7:30p-12a, Thurs-Fri: 2p-11p, Sat: 9a-11p

Starting pay is $18.35 with an increase upon medication certification.
