Job summary

Autism Services of Mecklenburg County is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide training, assistance, supervision, and person-centered support to adults with IDD, Autism, and/or TBI. The DSP helps residents develop skills for home and community living, personal care, recreation, employment and independence.

Responsibilities include safeguarding rights, documenting services, following plans of care, and supporting residents in daily living and community activities while promoting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, assistance, supervision and person-centered support to adults with IDD, Autism, and/or TBI.
• Help residents develop skills for home and community living, personal care, recreation, employment and independence.
• Safeguard rights, dignity and confidentiality; document services and communicate changes to supervision.
• Follow Plans of Care, respond to behavioral concerns, and support daily living and community activities.
• Assist with transportation, activities, and required trainings to maintain health and safety.
