Job summary

WellLife Network in Bayside, NY is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities in homes and communities. You will provide hands-on care, advocacy, and assistance with daily living, fostering independence and inclusion.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalency, fluent English, and a NY driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience. Compensation is hourly with robust benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalency diploma (required).
• Fluent in English for client communication.
• A valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions).
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs (preferred but not required).
• Patience, compassion, and dedication to empowering others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals you support.
• Assist with daily living activities, meal prep, and safe home environment.
• Administer medications as directed (where applicable) and accompany medical appointments.
• Support mobility and safe navigation of environments.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Document daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other required records.
