Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will support daily living activities, document progress, and help clients achieve personal goals while promoting independence.

Responsibilities include transportation when needed, community participation, ensuring a safe environment, and collaborating with families and care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/FA certification required.
• NCI/CPI training is preferred or required.
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
• Active driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• TB screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• May transport clients to community activities and appointments.
• Support clients to achieve personal goals and independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany clients on outings.
• Document observations and progress toward goals; ensure safety.

Skills

Excellent communication skills

Proficiency in English

NCI/CPI Training
