Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Behavioral Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with adults who have mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will help individuals build independence, pursue personal goals, and engage in activities they enjoy, from shopping and pool visits to community involvement.

As part of a supportive team, you will provide daily living assistance, documentation, and training to ensure safety, dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting people served.
• Patient, dependable, and respectful.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to follow individualized support plans.
• Background clearance required.
• Experience in human services preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to adults with mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Help people develop skills, pursue goals, and participate in their communities.
• Offer encouragement, mentoring, and guidance with daily activities and life skills.
• Assist with mobility, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, meals, and other daily needs.
• Recognize and respond to behavioral or mental health needs.
• Remain calm and use a team-based approach during challenging situations.
• Attend community activities, appointments, social events, and outings.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with the people served and teammates.
• Complete required documentation regarding services, progress, incidents, and events.
• Complete training to ensure safety and effective support.
