Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Behavioral Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide individualized support to adults with disabilities and complex needs. You will help clients develop life skills and participate in community activities, while building meaningful relationships and ensuring safety and dignity.

The role involves daily living support, documentation, and adherence to training. A valid driver's license and driving company vehicles may be required, with weekend differential

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and ability to transport persons served.
• Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served as required.
• Some positions may require own vehicle and auto-liability insurance.
• Patient, dependable, and respectful.
• Able to follow individualized support plans.
• Background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to adults with mental health, intellectual and developmental, and/or physical disabilities.
• Support people as they develop skills, pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities.
• Provide encouragement, mentoring, and guidance with daily activities and life skills.
• Help individuals maintain comfort, safety, dignity, and independence.
• Support daily living activities including mobility, dressing, bathing, meals, and personal-care needs.
• Recognize and respond to behavioral or mental health needs.
• Use a calm, patient, and team-based approach during challenging situations.
• Attend community activities, appointments, and events.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with the people we support and teammates.
• Complete required documentation regarding services and progress.
• Complete training to help you safely and effectively support the people in your care.
