Job summary

DABS, Inc. in California recruits Direct Support Professionals to support adults with disabilities in home and community settings, in two tracks: Personal Attendant (PA) or Skills Instructor (SI). Final assignment depends on program needs and experience.

As a PA, you supervise daily living activities, assist with ADLs, monitor health, transport to appointments, and document progress. As an SI, you help develop independent living skills, support scheduling, community participation, and safety

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow care plans and maintain professional ethics.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision within the individual’s home and community.
• Supervise ADLs—bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene; assist with meals.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany and/or transport to medical and personal appointments.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, and environments to supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes in compliance with DDS, Regional Center, and agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and other activities as needed.
