Job summary

DABS, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain greater independence. You’ll assist with daily activities, accompany individuals on community outings, and document health and behavior changes.

We offer both full- and part-time shifts, with day, evening, and overnight options. Benefits include paid sick leave, mileage reimbursement, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—but if you bring passion and dedication, we’ll provide the training.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with everyday activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and personal hygiene routines.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document changes in overall health and behavior to support their care.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration when needed.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
