Job summary

ICL is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care in a residential setting in New York. The role emphasizes aiding adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, delivering personal care, health support, and daily living skills to promote independence.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a DSP certificate, with certifications in AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid within six months. A NY driver’s license may be needed for certain shifts and locations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; DSP certificate required/seek within 6 months.
• Experience: Direct care to adults with developmental/physical disabilities preferred.
• Certifications: AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid; NY Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, medications, vital signs.
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities; assist with meal preparation and safe handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment including housekeeping and safety.
• Promote development and independence through skill-building, transportation, and community integration.
• Encourage interpersonal skills, money management, and leisure activities.
• Observe, document, and report progress; participate in program planning and staff trainings.
