Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the Day Program. This full-time role (40 hours) supports adults with disabilities through person-centered coaching, training, and community engagement, with duties including basic care and documentation.

Training provided; you will use Therap to track progress and may assist with mobility or transportation tasks. A clean driving record and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Must have SC Driver's License.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand or walk for long periods.
• Adaptable team player and advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement person-centered training and promote independence and community engagement.
• Provide direct care including self-help skills and personal hygiene.
• Assist with toileting and changing incontinence briefs and medications as needed.
• Track individuals' objectives and complete progress reports using Therap.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles, operate wheelchair lifts safely, and pursue needed certifications (MedTech, Basic Life Support).
