Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in El Cajon, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to promote health, safety and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities. This full-time role requires helping clients with daily routines, meals, and personal care in a compassionate, client-centered environment.

The position features AM and PM shifts (AM 6a-2p, PM 2p-10p) with potential van transportation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 is preferred or willing to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a California Driver’s License.
• Successful completion of pre-employment requirements including a background checks.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients per their Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and clothing changes when needed.
• Prepare meals and assist with cleanup.
• Provide transportation for clients using company vans as needed.

Here's What You'll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 12 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
