Job summary

Almost Family is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Bend/Redmond area to start part-time with potential for full-time. Pay ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, with biweekly pay.

The role involves assisting clients with daily living, community activities, transportation, and home management, within a supportive, caring team. Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• 1+ year supporting someone with I/DD (professional or personal)
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• CPR/First Aid Certification desirable or able to obtain

Responsibilities

• Provide attendant care, relief care, DSA and help clients engage in community activities
• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and transportation for appointments and errands
• Assist with household tasks and home management
• Encourage and model life skills and independence
• Follow individual care plans and maintain documentation

What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you’ll provide attendant care, relief care, DSA and help clientsengage in community activities such as social events, shopping, volunteer work, and more.

You’ll also:

• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) — physical, emotional, behavioral, and communication needs
• Provide transportation for medical appointments, errands, and community outings
• Assist with household tasks and home management
• Encourage and model life skills and independence
• Promote positive self-esteem and build meaningful relationships
• Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation

Who We’re Looking For

You are someone who is:

• 18+ years old
• Experienced: 1+ year supporting someone with I/DD (professionally or personally)
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality
• A team player who also thrives working independently
• Open to shifts that may include days, evenings, weekends and overnights

Requirements:

• Validdriver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Able to obtain a CPR/First Aid Certification (resources available upon hire)
• Able to lift up to 50 LBS to transfer clients
• Able to bend, kneel, twist, push and pull with no restrictions
• Be comfortable working in a diverse range of home environments
