Job summary

Almost Family is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Bend, OR, with opportunities to grow from part-time to full-time. You will support individuals with I/DD at home and in the community, helping with daily activities and transportation to appointments.

A compassionate, team-oriented approach is essential to help clients live independently and with dignity. We offer flexible schedules, paid training, PTO, health insurance options, and on-call support.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• 1+ year supporting someone with I/DD (professionally or personally)
• Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a criminal background check and obtain CPR/First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide attendant care, relief care, and help clients engage in community activities
• Support ADLs and transport clients to medical appointments, errands and outings
• Assist with household tasks and home management; model life skills and independence
• Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation

Pay: $22 - $24 per hour, paid biweekly

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll be part of a dedicated and caring team helping individuals live fuller, more meaningful lives. This isn’t just a job—it’s a calling.

What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you’ll provide attendant care, relief care, DSA and help clientsengage in community activities such as social events, shopping, volunteer work, and more.

You’ll also:

• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) - physical, emotional, behavioral, and communication needs
• Provide transportation for medical appointments, errands, and community outings
• Assist with household tasks and home management
• Encourage and model life skills and independence
• Promote positive self-esteem and build meaningful relationships
• Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation

You are someone who is:

• 18+ years old
• Experienced: 1+ year supporting someone with I/DD (professionally or personally)
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality
• A team player who also thrives working independently
• Open to shifts that may include days, evenings, weekends and overnights

Requirements:

• Validdriver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Able to obtain a CPR/First Aid Certification (resources available upon hire)
• Able to lift up to 50 LBS
• Be comfortable working in a diverse range of home environments
