Job summary

Open Arms Care Corporation in Knoxville, TN, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to help children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independent lives. You will build meaningful relationships, support daily activities, and make a positive impact every day.

This position requires every other weekend work and first-shift hours. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, teach life skills, transport to activities, document progress, and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to lift and assist with mobility up to 50 lbs.
• CPR certification within 30 days and PCM within 60 days (training provided).
• Pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with personal care, meals, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Teach and encourage independence and life skills.
• Coach, mentor, and advocate for the individuals we support.
• Create a safe, positive, and welcoming home environment.
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and outings.
• Document progress and work closely with a supportive team.

Every Other Weekend Required- BOTH Saturday and Sunday Orientation Training Required- First Shift Hours (8:00am-4:00pm/9:00am-5:00pm)
