Job summary

Ability Matters is hiring Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with autism and other disabilities in building independence and community involvement in Central Ohio. We provide paid training and opportunities to grow in a mission-driven environment.

Roles include teaching daily living skills, supporting real-world activities, and helping clients pursue meaningful community opportunities with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with individuals.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license; reliable transportation to support community activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, and budgeting.
• Participate in activities, events, volunteering, and other real-world experiences.
• Encourage people to reach their goals and build independence.
• Build relationships and encourage communication, social skills, and self-advocacy.
• Help individuals enjoy their community and pursue opportunities that matter to them.
• Model positive behavior and healthy communication.
• Work with a supportive team to provide safe, high-quality care.

Starting Pay: $17.00/hour

Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time | 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift & Weekend Opportunities

Location: Columbus, Central Ohio & Delaware, OH
