Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Whitehall, MI to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges in daily living activities. This part-time contract role focuses on personal care, growth of skills, and supporting residents in home, community, or residential settings.

You will follow each resident's Individual Service Plan, report progress to supervisors, and maintain safety and dignity in care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB screen or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Health certificate per contract or state regulations.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living.
• Works directly with residents to support activities of daily living and adaptive skills.
• Follows the Individual Service Plan for each resident.

The Direct Support Personnel I assists individuals withintellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth anddevelopment of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home,community or residential setting. The Direct Support Personnel I works directlywith the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living andadaptive skills. The Direct Support Personnel I should follow the guidance ofthe resident/ patients Individual Service Plan.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks
