Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Reading, PA. This contract-full-time position pays $19/hour and supports individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges in homes and communities, helping with daily living and adaptive skills.

The DSP works under the Individual Service Plan, assisting with growth and development, and requiring at least a high school diploma, CPR if applicable, health certificate, and compliance with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting.
• Provide supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills.
• Follow the resident/patient's Individual Service Plan guidance.

The Direct Support Personnel I assists individuals withintellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth anddevelopment of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home,community or residential setting. The Direct Support Personnel I works directlywith the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living andadaptive skills. The Direct Support Personnel I should follow the guidance ofthe resident/ patients Individual Service Plan.

Minimum Requirements:
