Job summary

Amergis, formerly Maxim Healthcare Staffing, is seeking Direct Support Personnel I to assist individuals with intellectual or mental health needs across home, community, or residential settings. You will provide daily living support and follow patient ISPs in travel assignments throughout New York.

The position emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to professional standards, and ongoing development of interpersonal skills in a dynamic healthcare staffing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in home, community or residential settings.
• Provide supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills.
• Follow the Individual Service Plan for each resident/patient.

Job description

The Direct Support Personnel I assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting. The Direct Support Personnel I works directly with the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills. The Direct Support Personnel I should follow the guidance of the resident/ patients Individual Service Plan.
