Job summary

Amergis is seeking Direct Support Personnel I to assist residents with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges in daily living, development of interpersonal skills, and community-based activities. This role follows the Individual Service Plan and supports residents in various settings including home and community facilities.

The position offers travel opportunities between locations such as Oxford, NY and Port Washington, NY, with contract options including Part Time and Full Time

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting.
• Works directly with the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills.
• Follows the resident's Individual Service Plan.
