Job summary

Dungarvin inc is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping with daily living activities and community participation. You will work closely with a team to promote independence and person-centered supports.

This entry-level role offers on-the-job training, flexible schedules (including some weekends/holidays), mileage reimbursement, and access to comprehensive benefits and retirement plans for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Physical ability to stand/walk/bend/squat for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including behavioral support needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living, household tasks, meal prep, shopping, budgeting, appointments, community activities, and goal setting.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development.
• Support individuals in achieving ISPs and document progress accordingly.
• Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team members.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed; complete accurate electronic documentation.

Job Description

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs.
