Job summary

Center for Developmentally Disabled is hiring a transportation assistant to provide safe and reliable transport for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist clients entering/exiting the vehicle, maintain a clean vehicle, and communicate effectively with families and staff.

The role requires adherence to traffic laws and the ability to keep accurate mileage and service records. The position may require working evenings or weekends as needed, with a typical schedule

Qualifications

• Experience driving individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to maintain clean, reliable transportation.
• Strong communication with families, staff, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for developmentally disabled individuals.
• Assist clients entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Keep vehicle clean and well-maintained.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to transport individuals with disabilities.

• Provide safe and reliable transportation services for developmentally disabled individuals
• Assist individuals with entering and exiting the vehicle
• Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
• Maintain accurate records of mileage and services provided
• Valid Class E in Missouri or Class C in Kansas driver’s license and clean driving record
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, the role is mainly Monday-Friday 8:30 to 3:30
