Job summary

Michael Dunn Center in Roane County, Tennessee, is seeking Direct Support Professionals who mentor and support individuals pursuing personal goals, helping them build independence, confidence, and community connections in a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Join a mission-driven, 24/7 care team where you’ll assist with daily living, document care, administer medications, and advocate for each person’s preferences and rights. Starting pay is $15.80/hour, with benefits after 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, push wheelchairs, and assist with transfers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to person-centered care.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities such as personal care, cooking, and household tasks
• Help individuals achieve personal goals through individualized support plans
• Encourage and assist with community involvement, appointments, and social activities
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
• Build strong, respectful relationships with individuals and team members
• Advocate for each person’s independence, preferences, and rights
