Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals to join our Day Program. As a DSP you would coach and foster engagement by leading workshops designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities, mentoring them and guiding groups through arts, music, games, reading and life enrichment activities.

The role includes direct care, behavioral support, and thorough documentation of daily progress. Shifts are Monday–Friday 8:30am–3:00pm (32.5 hours/week).

Qualifications

• 6 months or more experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable providing personal care and behavioral support.
• Proficient with basic computer skills and able to learn new systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Lead workshops and activities (art, music, games, reading, cooking, etc.).
• Teach daily life skills and foster independence.
• Lead outings and ensure ongoing engagement in activities.
• Provide daily personal care and behavioral support.
• Document care and daily progress in the electronic system.

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Day Program. As a DSP you would coach and foster engagement by leading workshops designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities. DSPs act as a life coach - they mentor and continuously engage individuals and lead groups through art, music, games, audio/visual, cooking, reading and other life enrichment activities. They also provide direct care support and behavioral interventions as needed and ensure timely and accurate documentation outlining daily progress.

Must be able to work the following shift option: Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:00pm (32.5 hrs/week)

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)
• Engage individuals through workshop activities to enhance skills. Leading activities such as music, art, games, reading, audio/visual, and other life enrichment activities.
• Teach and assist individuals with daily life skills such as cooking, money management, and community volunteering opportunities to foster independence.
• Lead fun outings and workshops and continuously engage individuals in activities.
• Assist individuals with personal care and provide behavioral interventions daily.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with your team to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
• Report on daily outcomes within the electronic documentation system.

Qualifications

• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members
• Ability to lift and transfer 50 pounds
