Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Day Program in Long Beach, CA. DSPs coach and foster engagement by leading workshops to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Part-time, Monday–Friday 12:30pm–5:30pm (25 hrs/week). You will mentor individuals through art, music, games, cooking, reading and other life enrichment activities, provide direct care, and document daily progress.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• High school Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company van.
• Ability to lift and transfer 50 pounds.
• Good communication and ability to document care and collaborate with the team.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
• Engage individuals through workshop activities to enhance skills (music, art, games, reading, audio/visual, etc.).
• Teach daily life skills such as cooking and money management.
• Lead outings and supervise activities.
• Assist with personal care and behavioral interventions daily.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care and maintain a safe environment.
• Document daily outcomes in the electronic system.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)

• Collaborate with your team to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
• Report on daily outcomes within the electronic documentation system.

Qualifications
