Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Day Program. DSPs coach and foster engagement by leading workshops to support individuals with developmental disabilities, mentoring and guiding groups through activities like art, music, games, reading, and cooking.

They provide direct care and behavioral interventions and document daily progress. The role runs Monday–Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm (32.5 hrs/week) with weekends off, offering competitive pay and

Qualifications

  • 6 months or more experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company van.
  • Comfortable providing personal care and behavioral support.
  • Adaptable with a positive attitude.
  • The ability to take initiative and pivot.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient with basic computer skills and able to learn new systems.
  • Good communication is key in this role, including reading, writing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Engage individuals through workshops and activities.
  • Teach and assist with daily life skills like cooking and money management.
  • Lead outings and workshops and keep individuals engaged.
  • Assist with personal care and behavioral interventions; perform housekeeping and laundry.
  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care tailored to needs.
  • Collaborate with team to create a safe, supportive environment.
  • Report daily outcomes in the electronic documentation system.

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP)to join our Day Program. As a DSP you would coach and foster engagement by leading workshops designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities. DSP’s act as a life coach- they mentor and continuously engage individuals and lead groups through art, music, games, audio/visual, cooking, reading and other life enrichment activities. They also provide direct care support and behavioral interventions as needed and ensure timely and accurate documentation outlining daily progress.

Must be able to work the following shift option: Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:00pm (32.5 hrs/week)

Job Description
What You’ll Do:
  • Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)
  • Engage individuals through workshop activities to enhance skills. Leading activities such as music, art, games, reading, audio/visual, and other life enrichment activities.
  • Teach and assist individuals with daily life skills such as cooking, money management, and community volunteering opportunities to foster independence.
  • Lead fun outings and workshops and continuously engage individuals in activities.
  • Assist individuals with personal care and provide behavioral interventions daily.Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with your team to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
  • Report on daily outcomes within the electronic documentation system.
