Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Barkhamsted, CT. This contract, part‑time role involves assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with daily living activities and skill development in home or community settings.

You will work under an Individual Service Plan, providing supportive care and collaborating with residents to promote growth and independence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with residents and provides supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills.

The Direct Support Personnel I assists individuals withintellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth anddevelopment of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home,community or residential setting. The Direct Support Personnel I works directlywith the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living andadaptive skills. The Direct Support Personnel I should follow the guidance ofthe resident/ patients Individual Service Plan.

Minimum Requirements:
