Job summary

Columbus Foundation, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to supervise, teach and support individuals with disabilities, balancing therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities. This role includes morning residential support and a full day of activities within our day program.

This position requires a high school diploma, 18+ years of age, valid driver’s license, and background checks; driving is required for transporting clients to activities and events.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of experience is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Must pass an initial criminal background check and then annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of assigned individuals.
• Implement vocational and behavioral training for assigned individuals.
• Conduct assigned daily activities.
• Support individuals while attending community activities and events.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in your care.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Lift and transfer individuals as needed.
• Enter individual’s data in Therap each day.
• Drive individuals to activities and from home.
• Follow all compliance requirements of the position.
• Transport clients between locations.
• Assist clients with hygiene including toileting and showering.

Pay: $19.25/hr

The position works with a dynamic and dedicated team to supervise, teach and support individuals with disabilities and provide a balance of therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities. The program encourages social interaction and integration in the community, while adhering to health and safety standards. This position will also provide (residential support) in the mornings for 1-2 hours before transitioning to our day activities program for the rest of their workday.
