Job summary

Ardmore Enterprises is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. You will help residents pursue personal goals, participate in community activities, and learn daily living skills.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, independence support, and collaborative teamwork to ensure quality, respectful care and opportunities for community inclusion.

Qualifications

• Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided.
• Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or with other types of special needs populations.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a "person-centered" focus.
• Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons-served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines.
• Actively plans, coordinates, and participates with residents in social activities including frequent community outings.
• Instructs, supports and participates in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
