Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with IDD in Hampstead, NC and surrounding communities. The role involves in-home and community-based care, flexible part-time shifts, and on-the-road support.

Training provided and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include assisting with daily tasks, personal care, transportation, scheduling, and electronic health record documentation.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position; on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Skills include interpersonal abilities, attention to detail and dependability.
• Technology aptitude; proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with daily tasks including housekeeping, meal prep, cooking and cleaning; personal care as needed.
• Transport client to appointments and errands as required.
• Help plan and organize client schedules.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system.
