Job summary

Skill Creations, a human services agency serving North Carolina communities, is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide in-home and community-based care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes one-to-one or group care, personal support, and educational opportunities in communication and recreation.

Starting pay ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, depending on service provided, with full-time positions offering a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected.
• Valid Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record are required.
• Criminal Record Check is required.
• Successful completion of CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management training is required.
• Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, training modules and recording data.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet most of the time.
• Ability to meet individual client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or group care in clients' homes or community settings.
• Assist with personal care, behavioral support, and medication administration as needed.
• Provide job coaching and assistance and/or independent living skills.
• Offer educational opportunities in communication and recreation/leisure.
