Job summary

Almost Family is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support clients ages 3-17 after school, on weekdays afternoons and weekends, in Oregon. This part-time role involves attendant and relief care, helping with daily living tasks and community activities to promote independence and quality of life.

You’ll join a compassionate team with flexible schedules, paid training, and benefits options. Must have 18+ age and 1+ year experience in I/DD support; valid driver’s license and reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years old.
• Experience: 1+ year supporting someone with I/DD (professional or personal).
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Open to shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Provide attendant care and relief care, and help clients engage in community activities.
• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Assist with household tasks and home management.
• Encourage life skills and independence.
• Promote positive self-esteem and build relationships.
• Follow care plans and maintain documentation.
• Support the organization’s mission to enhance quality of life.

Direct Support Professional (After School Mentor) – Part-time Only Position

This position is specifically designated to work with clients ages 3-17 on weekdays in the afternoons and on weekends. Ideal candidates must have availability Monday-Friday from 2:00pm-7:00pm and relatively open availability on Weekends.
Location: Bend, Redmond, Terrebonne, Sisters, Madras, Prineville, Sunriver, La Pine (Depending on your preference and client availability)
Pay: $22 – $24 per hour, paid biweekly

As a DSP, you’ll provide attendant care, relief care, DSA and help clientsengage in community activities such as social events, shopping, volunteer work, and more.

Requirements:

• Validdriver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Able to obtain a CPR/First Aid Certification (resources available upon hire)
• Able to lift up to 50 LBS
• Be comfortable working in a diverse range of home environments
