Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use needs in the community. You will implement supports from centered plans and assist with daily activities, transportation, and community inclusion.

The role emphasizes advocacy, independence, safety, and confidential handling of information, with a 2nd shift and a $15.00 hourly rate plus a $1.00 shift differential for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.
• Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating).
• Document the care you provide.
• Understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and use effective advocacy strategies.
• Connect people with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc.
• Promote effective communication.
• Assist in medication administration where state law allows.
• Protect confidentiality.
