Job summary

The Charles Lea Center is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with disabilities live independently in a residential setting. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, personal care, and medication administration, while promoting dignity and independence.

The role requires 18+ with a high school diploma, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver).
• Valid driver’s license and Social Security number required.
• Basic computer and documentation skills; ability to pass background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promote independence and dignity in every interaction.
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.
• Follow safety, infection control, and agency policies.
• Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and positive interactions.

Second Shift Availability Required

• Monday-Friday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Flexibility to work second-shift and weekend hours is essential.

About the Role:

As a DSP, you’ll work in a residential setting supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your responsibilities may include:

Work Location Flexibility: While this position is assigned to our Woodruff location, All Direct Support Professionals may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites as needed based on staffing and operational needs.
