Job summary

Hope Network / New Center is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 2nd shift, part-time (24 hours). You will help individuals build independence and integrate into the community with empathy and patience.

You’ll support daily living activities, monitor safety, and assist with medical and behavioral plans while coordinating with care teams. A Michigan driver’s license is required, and CPR/First Aid training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
• Commitment to scheduled shifts, including 2nd shift, afternoons, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety 24/7; this may be eyes-on, one-on-one, 15 or 30 minute checks, etc.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
• Establish collaborative relationships built on trust and empathy through consistent and meaningful communication.
• Foster a spirit of partnership with individuals served, the community, and other professionals.
• Help build effective skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence.
• Assist person served to identify and participate in social and leisure activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (get to/from places, dressing, bathing, cooking).
• Monitor vitals for medical conditions; promote positive behavior.
• Attend medical appointments and relay information accurately.
• Understand and implement care plans with documentation.
