Job summary

Hope Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential personal care and community living supports. You will assist with daily living activities, health monitoring, and community participation, while building trusting relationships with individuals served and the care team.

The role emphasizes safety, empathy, and professionalism, with shifts including afternoons and weekends. A Michigan driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to become certified.
• Basic computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety 24/7 through monitoring and checks; support crisis prevention and resolution.
• Build trust-based relationships with individuals served and collaborate with families, professionals, and community partners.
• Assist with activities of daily living and social/leisure activities to promote independence.
• Monitor health needs, track vitals, and relay medical information to the care team; support care plans implementation.
• Help connect individuals to community activities, employment goals, and educational opportunities.
