Position Overview
- Position Type: Non‑exempt, full‑time or part‑time, hourly role.
- Scope of Role: Provide direct support within a single program or unit; typically supporting 4–6 residents in a residential setting or up to 10 residents in periodic programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver support in accordance with individual service or program plans, including socialization, health maintenance, medication administration and skill/behavioral development.
- Assist with daily activities: personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, citizenship, and other activities of daily living.
- Accurately document progress and activity; review records and logs to stay abreast of changes in service plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the rights of people served.
- Report abuse, neglect or incidents in accordance with internal and external standards.
- Follow safety policies, participate in safety training and report hazards.
- Participate in orientation, ongoing training and monthly staff meetings.
- Work scheduled hours, arrive on time and remain until shift ends or replacement arrives.
- Respond to emergencies, including calling 911 and following health care directives.
- Assist with meal preparation and compliance with dietary plans.
- Maintain proper vehicle use and report accidents immediately when providing transportation.
- Perform daily and seasonal housekeeping and maintenance tasks, including yard upkeep and minor repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- At least six months of experience in human services (preferred).
- Minimum age 18.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and, when required, vehicle registration and insurance.
- Completion of all state‑required training and certification(s) within mandated timeframes.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently or 20 pounds constantly.
- Compliance with drug testing and criminal background checks as required by the state.
- Agreement to have background checks against regulatory registries as required.
- Mobile Punch Authorized (MPA) for timekeeping.
