Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with Developmental Disabilities in Worcester, MA. This part-time role offers daytime hours, a structured schedule, and opportunities for professional growth.

Salary starts at $20.81 per hour, up to $21.85 with MAP Certification, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision. Training, supervision, and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain sitting/standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively advocate for individuals served, demonstrating the agency’s values in all interactions.
• Leverage community knowledge to empower individuals and enhance quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the agency’s van.
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interactions.
• Attend trainings and apply knowledge on the job.
• Communicate effectively, whether orally or written.
