Job summary

Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. (AEDD) is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a male group home in Cabot, AR. The role runs Sat/Sun 8 pm–8 am, with starting pay at $15.00 per hour and negotiable based on education and experience.

You will support individuals with daily living skills, promote independence, and assist with transportation and community activities, while maintaining safety and records per the service plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency.
• Alternatively, 2 years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing essential life skills, from health and hygiene to independent living tasks.
• Foster a positive and respectful environment at home and in the community.
• Assist with daily routines as outlined in the Medicaid Waiver Person-Centered Service Plan.
• Help individuals engage with their community through activities like shopping, social events, appointments, and more.
• Provide safe transportation using your personal vehicle (must meet AR state insurance requirements).
• Maintain records of consumer expenses and document progress.
• Offer input during annual service planning meetings.
• Complete required training, including CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and in-service sessions.
• Submit weekly documentation and timesheets on time.

What We're Looking For

• Age Requirement: 18 years or older.
• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency. Alternatively, two years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities may qualify.
• Driver's License & Insurance: Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance.
• Background Check & Drug Screening: Required for all candidates.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively interact with individuals and understand written instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and kneel as needed.
