AEDD is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a male group home in Cabot, AR. The role supports residents in daily living, health, and social activities, with transportation duties using a personal vehicle.

Training, safety, and documentation are essential parts of the job. The position requires a HS diploma or GED (or 2 years DD experience), a valid AR driver's license and auto insurance, and compliance with background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with at least one year in public health, human services, or related field.
• Alternatively, two years of verifiable experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid Arkansas driver's license and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing life skills from health and hygiene to independent living.
• Maintain a respectful home and community environment.
• Follow the Medicaid Waiver Person-Centered Service Plan for daily routines.
• Help with community engagement through activities, appointments, and transportation.
• Provide safe transportation using your own vehicle; meet state insurance requirements.
• Record consumer expenses and document progress weekly.
• Participate in annual service planning meetings and training sessions.
• Submit weekly timesheets on time and complete required CPR/First Aid/Driving trainings.

Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Male Group Home

Schedule: Monday- Friday 4 pm- 12am

Starting Pay: $14:00 per hour (negotiable based on education and experience)

What You'll Do

• Support individuals in developing essential life skills, from health and hygiene to independent living tasks.
• Foster a positive and respectful environment at home and in the community.
• Assist with daily routines as outlined in the Medicaid Waiver Person-Centered Service Plan.
• Help individuals engage with their community through activities like shopping, social events, appointments, and more.
• Provide safe and reliable transportation using your personal vehicle (must meet AR state insurance requirements).
• Maintain records of consumer expenses and document progress.
• Offer valuable input during annual service planning meetings.
• Complete required training, including CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and in-service sessions.
• Submit weekly documentation and timesheets on time.

What We’re Looking For

• Age Requirement: 18 years or older.
• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency. Alternatively, two years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities may qualify.
• Driver's License & Insurance: Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance.
• Background Check & Drug Screening: Required for all candidates.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively interact with individuals and understand written instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and kneel as needed.
