Job summary

Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking a Direct Support Professional in North Kansas City, MO. The role involves helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, with a schedule from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

You will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help clients reach personal goals while maintaining compassionate support.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year Direct Support Professional experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
• Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid training prior to first shift.
• Level 1 med aide certification preferred.
• Availability for at least one weekend per month.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities.
• Provide companionship and encourage engagement in home/community activities.
• Support meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, and laundry as needed.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or community events.

Your Day Might Include:

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene
