Job summary

Sevita is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Independence, MO. You’ll support individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings, helping them live more independently and stay connected to their communities.

Starting pay is $19.65/hour for a full-time role with daily earnings access. You’ll perform hands-on personal care, encourage growth and dignity, and work to create a safe, positive home environment while collaborating with a team to meet each person’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or five years of documented caregiving experience in place of education.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license (held for at least 1 year).
• Access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
• Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing quality care.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful, trusting relationships with the individuals you support.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, meals, medication reminders, and daily routines.
• Encourage independence through life skills such as budgeting, communication, nutrition, and healthy living.
• Support community involvement, recreational activities, and social engagement.
• Provide patient, respectful support to individuals with behavioral or complex needs.
• Create a safe, positive, and supportive home environment.
• Work with your team to help individuals achieve personal goals.
