Job summary

Community Services, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who will provide hands-on assistance, emotional support, and community involvement to help people with disabilities live more independently. This part-time day shift runs Sunday through Tuesday, from 7:30 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., totaling 24 hours per week. You will support daily living tasks, encourage decision-making, and help individuals build life skills in a respectful, person-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No experience required—training provided.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for some shifts.

What you will do as a Direct Support Professional (DSP):

• Support people with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household routines, and community inclusion and engagement.
• Encourage choice, decision-making, and confidence in everyday activities.
• Assist individuals in developing life skills that promote greater independence.
• Build positive, respectful relationships based on dignity and person-centered support.
• Help create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments at home and in the community.
• Promote participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Follow and help to implement individualized support plans and document progress.
• Communicate effectively with families, team members, and other professionals to ensure consistent supports.
• Provide encouragement while respecting each person’s goals, preferences, and abilities.
• Ensure daily documentation and record keeping is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Comply with all applicable regulations, organizational policies, and procedures related to providing services and support to individuals with disabilities.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• No experience, don’t worry – we’ll train you!
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record preferred for day and swing positions
• Acceptable background check
